Airplane Crash Marietta Ohio - MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - UPDATE: The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released the names of two people killed in a plane crash in Marietta Tuesday morning.

In a press release, the Highway Patrol said Eric S., 45, of Parkersburg, was killed when the plane crashed. Sievers and Timothy F., 49, of Orient, Ohio. Gifford was on board.

UPDATE: The Ohio State Highway Patrol says the pilot and passenger have died after a plane crashed in Marietta.

The Highway Patrol said no one was injured on the ground. Several vehicles and buildings were damaged at the dealership.

According to a Twitter post from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened between Interstate 77 and Browns Road.

Bill Richardson, who is with Mid-Ohio Valley Airport, said the plane was a Beach E90 King Air. The plane is heading to MOV Regional Airport.

Richardson said the plane could seat six to 10 people. He said it was not known how many people were on board the plane when it crashed. It is not known where the plane came from at this time.

Officers from the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Marietta Police and Fire Department, Reno Fire Department and Devola Volunteer Fire Department were among the responding agencies.
